Mental Health Resources Day – Galveston County
On July 18, 2026, Creative Mental Wellness hosted its first MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DAY–Galveston County at the United Way of Greater Houston’s Bay Area Center. The event brought community members, mental and behavioral health professionals, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and advocates together in a welcoming, stigma-free environment centered on resources, education, and meaningful human connection.
Throughout the day, attendees had opportunities to speak directly with participating organizations, learn about available community services, and connect with people committed to improving mental wellness throughout Galveston County and the Greater Houston area. Educational presentations explored collaboration for mental health, behavioral health, and substance use treatment and care providers as well as the importance of calling 211 when help or community resources are needed.
The event also included live music performed by student musicians from Music Is Medicine Rx, interactive activities, opportunities for participating organizations to network with one another, and numerous informal conversations that demonstrated the heart of MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DAY: bringing resources out of offices and websites and placing them directly into the hands of the community.
MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DAY–Galveston County was more than an informational event. It was a day of collaboration, encouragement, and connection—and another important step toward building communities in which people know where to turn for help and understand that they do not have to face life’s challenges alone.
Creative Mental Wellness extends its heartfelt appreciation to every participating organization, speaker, musician, volunteer, community partner, and attendee who helped make the event possible
