Mental Health Resources Day
January 18, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
On January 18, 2025, Creative Mental Wellness is hosting the 2nd Annual MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DAY at the Judson Robinson Jr. Community Center (2020 Hermann Drive, Houston, Texas, 77004) from 10 am to 2 pm.
The mission of 501(C)(3) CR38V3 M1ND5/(dba) Creative Mental Wellness involves filling in gaps in the mental health care system. In addressing that goal, we created MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DAY—essentially a mental health fair with vendors & speakers—to give community members the opportunity to learn more about what resources exist in the area for treatment and support for mental health, behavioral health, & substance use disorder. We are also including organizations that help address needs people have that can negatively impact mental health.
In 2024, we had speakers from NAMI, Houston Police Department CIRT, & SAMHSA that talked about what they do. For 2025, SAMHSA, Houston Police Department CIRT, & the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be speaking (in addition to many other interesting representatives from various area organizations), to help attendees better understand their roles. We will also provide a little entertainment (like DAISY The Mental Health Dachshund, the puppet that “talks” about mental health topics to normalize such discussions & de-stigmatize mental health disorders/mental illness).
If you’re in the Houston area January 18th, we hope you will join us! We’re working to make this annual event a helpful and enjoyable day for acquiring valuable information as well as elevating mental health through CONNECTION with people who care very much about enabling a better quality of life for all of us! We are also planning to give away some goodies to enhance the FUN factor!
WHEN IT COMES TO MENTAL HEALTH, IT’S NOT ABOUT GETTING TO THE FINISH LINE FIRST. IT’S ABOUT US ALL GETTING THERE TOGETHER HEALTHIER!
