Light Therapy
Research has shown that not only is depression linked to sleep, but for those of us that struggle with our circadian rhythm, light therapy could prove beneficial. Especially for those working overnight or people who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, exposure to bright light, even artificial, can help stave off the symptoms of depression and improve mental wellness.
DAISY’s Book Club
Jenni Schaefer’s Life Without Ed: How One Woman Declared Independence from Her Eating Disorder and How You Can Too details Schaefer’s recovery from disordered eating. If you or a loved are struggling with disordered eating, this book can be a great place to start. It includes Schaefer’s therapist’s actual recommendations on how to start separating the eating disorder from the person, thereby gaining control over the E.D. and start changing behaviors.
